In this post, we’ll look at two distinct experiences: the Nordic Spa and the Korean Spa both of which I have had the pleasure of attending over the past year.
Nordic Spa vs Korean Spa: What’s the Difference?
My Nordic Spa experience fell at the top of November, when the weather is turning cold.
I came into the experience genuinely curious because I wondered how could being in the cold be relaxing.
However, by the time I left the experience, I couldn't even feel the 30-degree cold against my body in my wet body suit.
Yes- the experience regulates your body temperature beautifully. Imagine building a furnace inside you that burns brighter and brighter as you move through the outdoor experience.
The dopest part of the experience was walking away with a reduced aversion to cold weather.
The Nordic Spa Basics:
Outdoor setting (nature, water, silence)
Cycles: hot → cold → rest
Minimal talking, often quiet zones
Shorter visits, intentional circuits
Energy: alert, awakening, grounding
Now let’s talk Korean Spa- a favorite in my life, introduced to me by my dear mom.
There is something about the bathhouse experience, the cozy uniforms, the delicious asian food, the diversity of saunas, and the movie theater that has me running to this experience each time I get a small bag and a day off.
Also, for my readers who want to rejuvenate their at-home body washes, lotions, and serums, a Korean scrub treatment will remove dead skin cells, enhancing the effectiveness of their at-home products.
The Korean Spa Basics:

Gradually softens your system

overstimulation
emotional fatigue
One experience activates you into relaxation, while the other melts you into it.
With this knowledge in mind, you can tailor the rest experience to your life stage, making your recharge time more personalized and much more effective.
I find that the Nordic spa eases me into the experience of cold months, whereas the Korean spa melts tension year-round.
Others may be drawn to recharge in an outdoor environment, and that is where the Nordic spa truly shines.
